BRASS AND DAMASCUS KNIFE

This knife is extremely special, because it features a Damascus steel blade. Damascus steel is a hard, flexible steel decorated with wavy lines. Originally made in Damascus some 2000 years ago and used for sword blades, Damascus steel combines steels of different properties to produce blades with extraordinary toughness and edge-holding capabilities. Viewed under a microscope, the cutting edge of a Damascus blade displays tiny saw-tooth carbides formed by forging in a coal fire. Each piece of Damascus is as unique as a thumbprint. The craftsmanship and artistry involved in making Damascus steel demands that it be reserved for use only on the finest cutlery. Throughout the ages brass has been the choice of fine craftspeople and artisans. In our mind, nothing is quite so beautiful as antique brass which has been allowed to develop its' characteristic rich, soft patina. So, when the time came to choose handle materials worthy of pairing with Damascus steel, brass was at the top of his list. Now, we have taken the brass knife to a whole new level by adding contoured edges to the knife handles and matching the timeless quality and simplicity of brass with the uniqueness, durability and beauty of Damascus steel blades. Lockback knife with clip blade. 3" long when closed. May be personalized with full name or initials.
